This +100-year-old multi-national healthcare company needed a global strategy that would respect the differences between their local country exactness and certainty vs the US focus on creativity, diversity and flexibility.

A Global Strategy for Multi-National Healthcare Company

Challenge

The challenge was to create a global strategy with local implementation that had the flexibility to respect the local customs, business norms and regulations but keep the foundational aspects of their national culture.

Approach and Methodology

AccelPeople was asked to create a global strategy for a more diverse and inclusive organization that emphasized the aspects of inclusion at the global level and recognized the aspects of diversity at the local level. This was our methodology:

  • First identify the core or anchor points of the strategy and those items that need to be consistent across the organization

  • Next identify those aspects of the plan that can be localized

  • Access the existing local culture for opportunities to keep what was working and make recommendations for alignment

HR was the primary focus point for alignment through their employee’s lifecycle processes (hiring, onboarding, compensation and benefits, development, and advancement).

Outcome

The recommendations we made were aligned with the senior leadership at both the local organizations and parent company. We were able to help the company develop and implement a clear strategy and culture with a global anchor but with targeted flexibility for localized implementation.
